About CTCThe UW Center for Communities That Care distributes the CTC PLUS system. We help communities learn about CTC and install it — and offer personalized support in its implementation. The CTC system consists of web workshops filled with instructional videos, materials, and our latest research, along with ongoing strategic consultation and coaching support to communities and states. CTC was developed by J. David Hawkins, PhD, and Richard F. Catalano PhD, through decades of research and collaboration with communities across the country.Prevention Process CTC helps communities prevent problems before they develop. He is internationally known for his research on delinquency and substance abuse prevention. Dr. Hawkins is Emeritus Endowed Professor of Prevention at the University of Washington, School of Social Work and was the founding director of the Social Development Research Group.Richard F. Catalano, PhDCTC Co-Developer-- Dr. Catalano’s career spans over 30 years of research, program development and testing focused on prevention and youth development. He has led intervention research at SDRG for nearly 30 years.
