These include:Chief Information Security Officer CouncilThe Federal Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Council is the primary body for inter-agency CISO collaboration and communication. The Council is led by the Federal CISO, who works in the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and a co-chair who’s a member of the Council, elected to serve in that role. The CISO Council is dedicated to improving the cybersecurity posture of the United States through: * IT security policy development; * Strategic hiring and training of cybersecurity professionals; * Sharing of best practices; and * Promotion of shared services. The Council promotes collaboration and community building among Federal Agency CISOs for the purposes of openly sharing information, transferring knowledge, and developing a unified approach for addressing Federal IT security challenges and handling prominent. The Innovation Committee, which operates under the authority of the Federal CIO Council, helps agencies to speed the adoption of new practices, processes and technologies. In furthering the Council’s goals, the Committee addresses topics with the area defined by the Committee’s Purpose through: * the application of Council resources to develop strategies and policy advice and to sponsor or host events; ‘ * the participation of Committee members; * coordination with the Office of Federal CIO; and * communication to the Federal IT community.Workforce CommitteeThe Workforce Committee’s agenda encompasses the full employment life cycle: workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and career development. We work with the HR community to develop, implement and communicate strategies to recruit, retain, and manage a fully trained and qualified IT workforce that meets current and future mission requirements. The Workforce Committee is committed to its strategic goal of providing the Federal Government with a cadre of highly capable IT professionals with mission critical competencies to meet agency goals.CIOC CoPsCommunities of Practice (CoP) - Our CoP affiliates are also great resources and partners in achieving our priorities. These include:Federal Technology Investment Management Community of PracticeThe Federal Technology Investment Management (FTIM) Community of Practice (CoP) is a chartered group under the federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) Council Services, Strategies, and Infrastructure (SSI) Committee. It represents the combination of the former Technology Business Management (TBM) CoP and Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) CoP. It comprises a cross-agency community of federal partners that: * Provide feedback to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OFCIO); and * Mature the integration of Technology Business Management (TBM), IT Capital Planning, and IT Investment Control (CPIC) and portfolio management practices in the federal government through the sharing of best practices and lessons learned.Cloud and Infrastructure Community of PracticeThe Cloud & Infrastructure Community of Practice (C&I CoP) provides both in-person and virtual forums for agencies to share and learn about Federal IT infrastructure. Discussion topics include cloud adoption, new technologies, best practices, common challenges, and more. The C&I CoP facilitates information sharing among federal agencies to speed cloud migration and data center consolidation.Accessibility Community of PracticeThe IT Accessibility Community of Practice (508 CoP) consists of U.S. Government professionals who work to enhance access to federal information technology (IT). We identify and promote best practices for compliance with Section 508 law, and conformance to the Revised 508 Standards.
