From January 1, 2003, through December 31, 2011, Samuel J. Palmisano was chairman, president and chief executive officer of IBM. He was chairman of the Board from January through September 2012 and served as a senior adviser to IBM until his retirement on December 1, 2012. Under his leadership, IBM achieved record financial performance, transformed itself into a globally integrated enterprise and introduced its Smarter Planet agenda.

Mr. Palmisano began his career with IBM in 1973 in Baltimore, Maryland. In a 39-year career with the company, he held leadership positions that included senior vice president and group executive of the Personal Systems Group, senior vice president and group executive of IBM Global Services, senior vice president and group executive of Enterprise Systems and president and chief operating officer.

Mr. Palmisano is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University. Among his many business accomplishments, Mr. Palmisano was awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Johns Hopkins University in 2012 and from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2005. In 2006, he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the London Business School. Mr. Palmisano has received a number of business awards, including the Atlantic Council’s Distinguished Business Leadership Award in 2009 and the inaugural Deming Cup, presented in 2010 by the W. Edwards Deming Center for Quality, Productivity and Competitiveness at Columbia Business School. In 2013 Mr. Palmisano was awarded the French Legion of Honor for his many accomplishments during his successful career at IBM, as well as for his personal commitment to French-American friendship. He is also an elected member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and served as co-chair of the Council on Competitiveness’s National Innovation Initiative.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Christopher G. Caine</Name><Description>Christopher G. Caine is President of the Center for Global Enterprise, a New York based non-profit organization dedicated to the study of the contemporary corporation in the era of global economic integration. He is also President &amp; CEO of Mercator XXI, LLC (www.mercatorxxi.com), a professional services firm helping clients engage the global economy.

Drawing on over 35 years of experience in government and public affairs and travel to 47 countries, Mercator XXI provides marketplace insight, experiences, and support to execute client needs in all hemispheres.

Prior to April 2009, Mr. Caine was employed by IBM Corporation for 25 years. For thirteen years he had corporate responsibility for global public policy issues that impacted IBM in his role as Vice President, Governmental Programs.

Mr. Caine also served as Director, Human Resources and Environmental Policy for IBM, responsible for public policy issues such as health-care reform, labor, personnel, health and safety, environment, and energy. Prior to that, he was Manager of Federal Government Relations and was Regional Manager of the company’s state government relations programs.

Prior to IBM, Mr. Caine worked for the Coca-Cola Company, the Eaton Corporation, and the Electronic Industries Association.

Mr. Caine has spoken at a variety of public fora on policy and economic development trends involving government, innovation, globalization, global electronic commerce, privacy, and new security challenges. These fora include: United States Congress; National Intelligence Council Conference convened by the Center for Strategic and International Studies: An Open and Trusted Model in Information Technology; World Knowledge Forum in Seoul, Korea: Government in an Era of Rapid Innovation; the World Economic Forum: Improving Public-Private Cooperation to Address New Security Challenges; the Shanghai International Forum: Globalizing Electronic Commerce; the Progress &amp; Freedom Foundation Aspen Summit; the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation; the New York Technology Forum: Transforming Government for the 21st Century; and the Centre for Corporate Public Affairs in Sydney, Australia.

Mr. Caine serves as a senior adviser for technology and public policy to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Management. He is on the boards of the following organizations: The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, The Economic Club of Washington DC, The Institute for Education, The Ambassador Theater, and BrainFood.

He is a guest lecturer at Lafayette College and Georgetown University. In the Spring of 2008, he created the Caine Scholar’s Award for Global Leadership, Business and Policy at Lafayette College. Warsh</Name><Description>Kevin M. Warsh serves as Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and as Lecturer at its Graduate School of Business.

In addition, he advises several companies, including serving on the board of directors of UPS.

Governor Warsh served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 2006 until 2011. Warsh served as the Federal Reserve’s representative to the Group of Twenty (G-20) and as the Board’s emissary to the emerging and advanced economies in Asia. In addition, he was Administrative Governor, managing and overseeing the Board’s operations, personnel, and financial performance.

Prior to his appointment to the Board, from 2002 until 2006, Warsh served as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Executive Secretary of the White House National Economic Council. Previously, Warsh was a member of the Mergers &amp; Acquisitions department at Morgan Stanley &amp; Co. in New York, serving as Vice President and Executive Director.

Warsh was born in upstate New York. He received his A.B. from Stanford University, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>David J. Kappos</Name><Description>David J. Kappos is a partner at Cravath. He is widely recognized as one of the world’s foremost leaders in the field of intellectual property, including intellectual property management and strategy, the development of global intellectual property norms, laws and practices as well as commercialization and enforcement of innovation-based assets. Mr. Kappos supports the Firm’s clients with a wide range of their most complex intellectual property issues.

From August 2009 to January 2013, Mr. Kappos served as Under Secretary of Commerce and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). In that role, he advised the President, Secretary of Commerce and the Administration on intellectual property policy matters. As Director of the USPTO, he led the Agency in dramatically reengineering its entire management and operational systems as well as its engagement with the global innovation community. He was instrumental in achieving the greatest legislative reform of the U.S. patent system in generations through passage and implementation of the Leahy-Smith America Invents Act, signed into law by the President in September 2011. Prior to leading the USPTO, Mr. Kappos held several executive posts in the legal department of IBM, the world’s largest patent holder. From 2003 to 2009, he served as the company’s Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for Intellectual Property. In that capacity, he managed global intellectual property activities for IBM, including all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret protection. Mr. Kappos joined IBM as a development engineer. During his more than 25 years at IBM, he served in a variety of roles including litigation counsel and Asia Pacific IP counsel, based in Tokyo, Japan, where he led all aspects of intellectual property protection, including licensing, transactions support and mergers and acquisitions activity for the Asia/Pacific region.

Mr. Kappos has received numerous recognitions, including induction into the Intellectual Property Hall of Fame by Intellectual Asset Management Magazine, being named one of the 50 most influential people in intellectual property by Managing IP, and being named intellectual property professional of the year by the Intellectual Property Owners Association in 2011.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Douglas D. Haynes</Name><Description>Douglas D. Haynes is the President of Point72 Asset Management. Prior to joining Point72, Mr. Haynes was a Director at McKinsey &amp; Company. Before joining McKinsey in 1992, Mr. Haynes worked for GE’s advanced materials business, which is now part of Sabic International.

Mr. Haynes is an active community member, dedicating a significant portion of his efforts to supporting Veterans’ initiatives. In addition to serving on the Board of the Robin Hood Foundation, Mr. Haynes helped launch its Veterans Advisory Board.

Mr. Haynes is also on the Board for Innovolt, a privately-held technology firm, as well as Singtel’s Technology Advisory Board. He serves on the Corporate Advisory Board of the Darden Graduate School of Business, and the Board of the Canterbury School.

Mr. Haynes earned a B.S. summa cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University, and received his M.B.A. at the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate Business School, where he was a Shermet Scholar.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Shelly Lazarus</Name><Description>Shelly has been working, as she would say it, “In the business I love,” for more than four decades, almost all of that time at Ogilvy &amp; Mather.

Shelly rose through the ranks of Ogilvy &amp; Mather assuming positions of increasing responsibility in the management of the company, including president of O&amp;M Direct North America, Ogilvy &amp; Mather New York and Ogilvy &amp; Mather North America. She was named worldwide CEO of Ogilvy &amp; Mather in 1996 and Chairman in 1997. She became Chairman Emeritus in July 2012.
Shelly started at Ogilvy at a time when the agency’s legendary founder David Ogilvy still walked the halls, and personally preached that the purpose of advertising was to build great brands. Under Shelly’s leadership, that essential mission has remained the centerpiece of the company’s philosophy, extending across regions and marketing disciplines, and attracting some of the world’s largest and most respected brands including American Express, BP, Coca-Cola, IBM and Unilever among many others.

Shelly has been a frequent industry honoree. Advertising Women of New York selected Shelly as its Woman of the Year in 1994. She was honored by Women in Communications with their Matrix Award in 1995, was named Business Woman of the Year by the New York City Partnership in 1996, and Woman of the Year in 2002 by the Direct Marketing Association (DMA). She has appeared numerous times in Fortune magazine’s annual ranking of America’s 50 Most Powerful Women in Business. Shelly was the first woman to receive Columbia Business School’s Distinguished Leader in Business Award as well as the Advertising Educational Foundation’s (AEF) Lifetime Achievement Award. She was inducted into the American Advertising Federation Hall of Fame in 2013 and is also a member of the DMA’s Hall of Fame.

Shelly serves on the boards of several corporate, philanthropic and academic institutions: The Blackstone Group, FINRA, General Electric, Merck, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy, World Wildlife Fund, Partnership for New York City, Lincoln Center, and the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School, where she received her MBA in 1970. She served for five years as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Smith College, her alma mater. She is a member of Advertising Women of New York, The Committee of 200, Council on Foreign Relations, The Business Council, and Women’s Forum Inc. She has also served as Chairman of the American Association of Advertising Agencies.

Shelly is the wife of Dr. George Lazarus, a New York pediatrician, and mother to their three grown children.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Jerry Yang</Name><Description>Entrepreneur Jerry Yang co-founded Yahoo! Inc. in 1995 and served on the Board of Directors and as a key member of the executive management team until January 2012. While at Yahoo he led a number of initiatives, including two of the biggest investments in the internet: Yahoo Japan and Alibaba Group. Yang holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He is widely recognized as a visionary and pioneer in the internet technology sector, and was named one of the top 100 innovators in the world under the age of 35 by the MIT Technology Review in 1999.
Mr. Yang served as a director of Yahoo! Japan Corporation (TSE:4689) and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. until January 2012; and a director of Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) from July 2000 to November 2012.

Yang currently works with and invests in technology entrepreneurs through AME Cloud Ventures, his innovation investment firm. Mr. Yang joined Workday’s board of directors in 2013. He serves as a board observer for Lenovo, vice-chair of Stanford University’s Board of Trustees, and director for Monterey Peninsula Foundation.

Yang and his wife, Akiko Yamazaki, are well known philanthropists who focus on higher education, conservation and the arts.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Jean-Pascal Tricoire</Name><Description>Jean-Pascal Tricoire, 50 years old, joined Schneider Electric in 1986. He was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in 2006 and named Chairman &amp; CEO in April 2013.

His career at Schneider Electric has developed largely outside France in operational functions in Italy, China, South Africa and USA. Within the General Management, he served as Vice Executive President of the International Operating Division from 2002 before being appointed in 2004 Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Moreover, Jean-Pascal is President of the France-China Committee since 2009.

Jean-Pascal holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and a MBA.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Michael Spence</Name><Description>Nobel Laureate Michael Spence is a world authority on growth in developing countries and on the convergence between advanced and developing economies. He is a professor of economics at the Stern School of Business at New York University, Professor Emeritus of Management in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow of the Hoover Institution and a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Professor Spence has also served as Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard and the Dean of the Stanford Business School. He serves on the board of a number of private and public companies and is a Senior Adviser to Jasper Ridge Partners. Professor Spence is a former Chairman of the Commission on Growth and Development. In 2001, he received the Nobel Prize in Economics for work that assessed how markets try to close informational gaps. He has published widely and is the author of several books and numerous articles and papers. His recent book, The Next Convergence: The Future of Economic Growth in a Multispeed World, describes how the global economy will develop over the next fifty years. It is available on Amazon.

Following a technical education he completed further training at the University of St. Gallen (Switzerland). Claudio Cisullo has been a Swiss entrepreneur since 1984. During his entrepreneurial career, he founded and established over 26 companies in different business segments globally. He is the founder, owner and Chairman of CC Trust Group AG, his family office, which is an investment and consulting firm headquartered in Pfäffikon SZ, and Board member of several internationally renowned companies.

Claudio Cisullo held several positions as CEO and as Board member. He was owner and Chairman of the PANATRONIC Group. Currently he is founder and Executive Chairman of Chain IQ Group.

From 2009 to 2011 he was Board member of the Sauber F1 team, and from 2009 to June 2012 Vice President of the Board of Directors of Marquard Media AG. He served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Swisscom IT Services until the end of 2013. Claudio Cisullo was former Chairman of the UBS Group Industrialization Advisory Board as well as former President of the Commercial Advisory Board of the Laureus Foundation Switzerland.

Furthermore Claudio Cisullo is founder and Chairman of “the Circle”. In addition he is a member of the Board of Directors of Ringier Group, one of the Leading Media Groups in Europe, and additionally Member of the Foundation for the promotion of the degree of Master in Law and Economics at the University of St. Gallen (MLE Foundation). Most recently, she spent over six years in the Governmental Programs organization. She was responsible for financial, security, and managerial control processes in the area of Governmental Programs. She worked with team members in 35 countries to ensure all human resource issues were handled appropriately and according to individual country policy. In this role she also managed a multi- million dollar global budget and established a checks and balances system to help capture all expenses on a country level basis.

Ms. Debban has a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Albany with a major in Psychology and Business Administration.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Peter Evans</Name><Description>Vice President -- Peter C. Evans is the Vice President at the Center for Global Enterprise where he is responsible for the Center’s research agenda and global partnerships.  Previously, Dr. Evans held key strategy and market intelligence roles at General Electric.  He was Director of GE Corporate’s Global Strategy and Analytics team. He also led GE Energy’s Global Strategy and Planning team for five years. Prior to joining GE, he was Director at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA). He also worked as an independent consultant for a variety of corporate and government clients, including the US Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee, US Department of Energy, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the World Bank.

Dr. Evans has extensive international energy experience, including two years as a Visiting Scholar at the Central Research Institute for the Electric Power Industry in Tokyo, Japan. His many articles and policy monographs include: The Age of Gas and the Power of Networks (General Electric, 2013), The Industrial Internet: Pushing the Boundaries of Minds and Machines (General Electric, 2012); Japan: Bracing for an Uncertain Energy Future (Brookings Institution, 2006), Liberalizing Global Trade in Energy Services (AEI Press, 2002) and Fettered Flight: Globalization and the Airline Industry with D. Yergin and R. H. Vietor (CERA, 2002).

He received his master degree and PhD degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is a Board Member of the National Association for Business Economics.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Ira Sager</Name><Description>Vice President -- Ira Sager is a Vice President at the Center for Global Enterprise where he is responsible for the Center’s global learning initiatives.

Mr. Sager has held several senior editorial roles in 21 years with Bloomberg Businessweek. Recently, he was Director of Special Projects. In that position, he developed strategy and content for editorial projects, realigned coverage in several areas and helped launch Bloomberg Businessweek’s award-winning iPad app. He was a member of the editorial team that redesigned and repositioned Businessweek online, launched the publication’s first blogs and worked extensively with third-party content providers. He also served as Managing Editor of eBiz, a monthly supplement to Businessweek that chronicled the dot-com era. He has written and edited numerous cover stories, features and news articles on all aspects of the computer industry. Mr. Sager has extensive experience with digital media and knowledge of the technology, management consulting and education industries.

He has a B.A. in English from Baruch College, City University of New York.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Peter Jen</Name><Description>China Representative -- Peter Jen has over thirty years of experience in the IT industry in various capacities – including technical, general management in marketing, and government relations

For the past two years, Mr. Jen has been the Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of North Asia for SAP, AG. Prior to this, he spent twenty six years working at IBM in both the United States and in China.

SAP, from Germany, is the world’s largest business software solution company. His key responsibilities are to aid in establishing a strategic framework to promote and engage government officials and relevant government agencies, to help SAP understand Chinese policies and regulations, to help promote &amp; develop SAP’s business under a different cultural and business environment, and to raise the company’s image and social awareness.

During his time at IBM, he was the Special Assistant to the IBM Chairman of Greater China Group (GCG). His previous responsibility was as Chief Representative for IBM GCG, responsible for IBM’s corporate strategy on government affairs. He was the key representative of the company in China. His primary duties included developing long-term policy decisions; directly supervising the business strategies of high-priority industries; developing and building key government and ministry relationships and high-level government leader contacts; keeping abreast of current market trends, industry, and competitive information; educating corporate headquarters about the China operating climate; and ensuring that both management and colleagues understood government affairs and its relationship to bottom-line results. Overall, Peter was involved in representing IBM on a macro-level, as a spokesperson on relevant business and political issues and pro-actively lobbying with U.S. and Chinese governments on trade and market access issues.

Seetharam is an accomplished leader with 35 years of senior management experience in Indian industry. He has led strategic programs for companies, including the implementation of global initiatives. Experienced in building the brand and reputation of companies, he holds numerous achievements in the area of governmental affairs, manufacturing and operations.

Within two years of being named IBM’s Governmental Programs leader in India, he significantly expanded the Company’s foot print with government officials. He led the expansion of its strategy and programs designed to establish IBM as a trusted partner with the central and state governments. He has extensive experience and expertise working with governments across India, and elsewhere. As a member of the IBM Global Governmental Programs Leadership team, he contributed directly to the company’s worldwide objectives in the areas of Market Access, Open Standards, Workforce Flexibility and Market Support. He also led a number of professional development initiatives comprising colleagues from different cultures and nationalities.

He has demonstrated leadership skills in building motivated, innovative, and high performing teams that consistently delivered on core business commitments and execution of strategy. During his career he has led teams in Manufacturing, Customer Service, Operations and Strategic Planning. In addition to his work with IBM, his professional experience includes employment with Siemens, TVS Electronics, and Tech Pacific.

Prior to joining the Center for Global Enterprise, Mrs. Palmisano spent 7 years working in the book publishing industry in the publicity and marketing departments of Random House and Penguin Books.

At Random House, she worked with a wide portfolio of authors and book genres including commercial and literary fiction and a variety of non-fiction categories such as history, business, and biographies. She was responsible for implementing unique publicity strategies and executing book campaigns and tours. Most recently, she spent 2 years as a senior publicist and marketer for the business, politics, and science imprints at Penguin Books. She managed publicity and marketing campaigns for best–sellers such as Tap Dancing to Work: Warren Buffett on Practically Everything by Carol Loomis and Hatching Twitter by Nick Bilton.

Jesse is an Associate of Mercator XXI, LLC. Prior to joining Mercator, Jesse worked for Social Impact’s Global Health Professional and Organizational Development Program. She focused on creating and implementing services to strengthen USAID’s Bureau for Global Health. Jesse has also worked at Compass, a nonprofit consulting firm, where she analyzed operations to contribute to a strategic growth plan. During college Jesse worked as an intern at the United States House of Representatives.

Jesse has field experience in India, Senegal, and Argentina, gained while studying urban development and conducting a five-month case study that examined entrepreneurship in the informal economy. Jesse has co-directed and produced two broadcasts that aired on PBS. She led the content development team, planned shoots, and participated in all aspects of the post-production process. Mr. Beier served in the White House as the Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to Vice President Al Gore during the Clinton Administration. He has served as an appointee of President Clinton on his Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, on the Institute of Medicine panel on the Future of Health and Human Services, and as an advisor to the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. He currently serves as an appointee of Governor Brown on the California State Government Organization and the Economy Commission, as a Senior Fellow of the Center for Global Enterprise, and teaches as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

He was responsible for identifying emerging technologies and marketplace developments critical to the future of the IT industry, and organizing appropriate activities in and outside IBM in order to capitalize on them. He has led a number of IBM’s company wide initiatives including the Internet and e-business, supercomputing, Linux, and Grid computing. He continues to consult for IBM.

In March of 2008, Dr. Wladawsky-Berger joined Citigroup as Strategic Advisor, helping with innovation and technology initiatives across the company. He is helping to formulate Citigroup initiatives related the future of global banking, including mobile banking, Internet-based financial services, and financial systems modeling and analysis.

He is Visiting Lecturer at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and Engineering Systems Division, Adjunct Professor in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group at the Imperial College Business School, and Senior Fellow at the Levin Institute of the State University of New York. He is a member of BP’s Technology Advisory Council, InnoCentive Advisory Board, the Board of Directors of the Federation of American Scientists, the Visiting Committee for the Physical Sciences Division at the University of Chicago and the Board of Visitors for the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences at the University of Texas at Austin.

He was co-chair of the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee, as well as a founding member of the Computer Sciences and Telecommunications Board of the National Research Council. He is a former member of the University of Chicago Board of Governors for Argonne National Laboratories and of the Board of Overseers for Fermilab. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. A native of Cuba, he was named the 2001 Hispanic Engineer of the Year.

Dr. Wladawsky-Berger received an M.S. and a Ph. Wilson was a Lead Economist in the Development Economics Research Group of the World Bank.

While at the Bank, Mr. Wilson also served in the Infrastructure Vice Presidency. In addition to directing empirical research and policy projects, he provided expertise on operational lending projects at the Bank around the world. Mr. Wilson has over three decades of experience in international economics, trade, and technology policy issues and strategy.

Mr. Wilson developed and directed the establishment of the Standards and Trade Development Facility with other international agencies. He also created the concept for the Bank’s Trade Facilitation Facility. Mr. Wilson co-managed Bank staff input to the G-20 Summit in Seoul on trade and directed the Bank’s engagement on trade and development issues for the United Nations Forth Conference on the Least Developed Countries, among other strategic initiatives and programs.

Prior to joining the Bank Mr. Wilson was Vice President for Technology Policy at the Information Technology Industry Council in Washington, D.C. He also served as a Senior Staff Officer at the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and National Research Council and Adjunct Professor of International Affairs at Georgetown University. Mr. Wilson has also been a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for International Economics and a Visiting Fellow at Columbia University. He has degrees from The College of Wooster and Columbia University in New York.</Description></Stakeholder><Stakeholder StakeholderTypeType="Person"><Name>Sherif Kamel</Name><Description>Professor of management information systems and former founding dean of the School of Business at the American University in Cairo (currently on sabbatical).

Kamel led a major repositioning of the school by adopting a multi-tier thematic approach that included entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership and responsible business. During his tenure, he initiated the process for EQUIS, AMBA and ACCET accreditations and got the school reaccredited by AACSB in 2011. The school became ACCET accredited in 2011; AMBA and EQUIS accredited in 2014 joining only 70 business school in the world that are triple-crowned. In addition, the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) ranked among the top 1% in the region; the MBA program ranked top by Forbes ME in 2012; executive education open enrolment ranked 68th by the FT in 2014 and the school ranked 46th and recognized as one of the most influential 100 business schools in the world by Eduniversal in 2013. He introduced the EMBA program, a master of science in finance, a BBA in management of information and communication technology and a minor in entrepreneurship. Moreover, he helped establish multiple development funds for research, faculty, staff and students; the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation investing in Egypt’s young promising entrepreneurs through supporting startups, business plan competitions, bootcamps, and mentorship becoming the country’s leading educational partner in the entrepreneurship ecosystem. He also helped establish the university’s Venture Lab becoming Egypt’s primary university-based incubator; and the school offers one of the most comprehensive and diversified executive education portfolio of programs in the Middle East-Africa region with over 4,000 executives and middle managers trained annually. In addition, fund raising efforts managed to yield two endowed chairs in banking and private equity with a total value of 3 million US$ and over 1.5 million US$ in scholarships and sponsorship funds.

Kamel has a long experience as an academic leader investing in human capital, building and managing executive development institutions addressing management, governance, entrepreneurial, and leadership issues. He was associate dean for executive education (2008-2009) where he led the establishment of the International Executive Education Institute; he was director of the Management Center (2002-2008) turning it into a multi-million US dollars revenue operation and was director of the Institute of Management Development (2002-2006). Before joining AUC, he was director of the Regional IT Institute (1992-2001), a UNDP-funded project turned into a sustainable professional development institute; and helped establish and manage the training department of the Cabinet of Egypt Information and Decision Support Center (1989-1992). Kamel is an advocate of diversity, empowerment, and inclusion and using a bottom-up leadership approach.

Kamel holds a PhD in Information Systems from London School of Economics and Political Science (1994), an MBA (1990) and a BA in Business Administration (1987) and an MA in Islamic Art and Architecture (2013) from the American University in Cairo. His research and teaching interests include management of information technology, information technology transfer to developing nations, electronic business and decision support systems. His work is broadly published in IS and management journals. He is the editor of three books; E-Strategies for Technological Diffusion and Adoption: National ICT Approaches for Socioeconomic Development (2010), Electronic Business in Developing Countries: Challenges and Opportunities (2005) and Managing Globally with Information Technology (2003). He serves on the editorial and advisory board of a number of IS journals and he is the associate editor of the Journal of IT for Development and the Journal of Cases on Information Technology.

Kamel is an Eisenhower Fellow (2005). He is the executive VP of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (2012-present) and board member of the Egyptian American Enterprise Fund (2012-present) and RISE Egypt (2013-present). He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Canada (2014-present); Egypt-US Business Council (2013-present); World Bank Knowledge Advisory Commission (2012-present) and the Advisory Group of IDM-UK (2012-present).
